Board of Directors

Robin Cook volunteers every week alongside our physical therapist, Laurie Schick.  A long time Forward Stride friend and an avid horse woman, Robin is grounded in the healing power of animals.  Her previous career was as a professional violinist in Boston playing with the Esplanade Pops and touring with Phantom of the Opera.  She returned to Portland in ’98 to play with the Oregon Symphony, and is currently a Realtor with RE/MAX Equity Group.

Lucerne Currie, CPA, is Senior Internal Controls Manager for Electro Scientific Industries.  Her past experience includes Associate Director of Protiviti, a leading international provider of independent internal audit and business and technology risk consulting services, as well as stints with Xerox and Tektronix.  Lucerne offers significant experience in strategic financial planning and organizational oversight.  Lucerne’s our good-hearted, level-headed finance guru who keeps us on track.

Cheryl Hansen provides marketing and event management services to a variety of business and nonprofit clients and has served as interim Executive Director of the Children's Justice Alliance.  While you may recognize Cheryl as a Pacific Northwest TV personality, her past corporate involvement includes Meier & Frank’s Vice President of Public Relations.  She owns Dancing Star Farm in Wilsonville where she grows heirloom tomatoes and is mom to her horse, Hank Hansen.  Giddy-up!

Halle Hutchison is Director of Integrated Marketing for T-Mobile in Seattle and is a nationally recognized thought-leader on visual branding.  She brings extensive experience in advertising and strategic communications, and excels in creating national awareness and consideration for brands, products and causes.  Halle comes to Forward Stride to boot-up with “a powerful, passionate group of people dedicated to unleashing the full potential of this amazing organization!".

Lisa Kaliban was a partner at the San Francisco law firm of Titchell, Maltzman, Mark & Ohleyer. She served on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Panel for the NASD in San Francisco, was on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Junior League, where she tracked state and federal legislation and served as an analyst and national and state lobbyist.  Lisa out wonks everybody, protects the organization and wears red cowboy boots.

Amy Van Camp is a strategic communications consultant who specializes in event production, campaign management, message development and community outreach.  What interests her about Forward Stride?  “The people ... from the staff to the clients, from the partners to the parents. The direct impact the organization is having in bettering the lives of these folks in the here and now. The potential of helping to grow the organization thoughtfully and courageously.”
